This suggestion is saying Nations should be reset, it's saying if it is (due to the long peace coming) or if a big future update emerges... these are my ideas.
**Fort and Siege overhaul**
Forts in my opinion take up too much space on the map, they are ugly and only serve the purpose of being a fort. They are as Zaify has called them 'deepslate blocks'. I personally do not like the Siege system, as someone who works Saturday and is unable to contribute so much time to CCNet, it has become an impossibility for me to attend sieges in most situations.
I suggest Decently sized maps for about a 20v20 set up, these maps would be Europe, Asia, Island Nations, the Americas, Saharan Africa, and Sub-Saharan Africa.
These maps would have command posts, you would gain points from capturing a command post and the team with the command posts by the end of the Game would win. You could not capture a command post behind enemy lines requiring an almost Frontlines style of combat. Nations would also import a supply tower, this tower on each side of the map would be able to spawn in tanks and other movecraft on a cooldown based on the resources a nation has. These maps should be planned out similar to FPS maps with secret tunnels, forests, and so on to provide enjoyable combat not limited to a Deepslate block.
These Battles should be scheduled, a nation would siege another nation perhaps via command. This triggers a one-week countdown till the siege. There would be 3 siege battles over 3 days, each nation would provide the timezones they want for sieges to either staff or an automated command. This siege would then be between what both sides want --- this should encourage both sides to discuss and voluntarily come to an agreement over which timezones. Each battle should last 2 hours leaving 6 hours of total combat time.
I think this would make sieges more fun, by removing the need for a fort and incorporating fun FPS style gameplay revolving around a map designed for fun rather than designed for maximum defense.
**roleplay/diplomacy**
I think to reduce toxicity and to make diplomacy and elements of roleplay more important a tension system needs to be set up. Things that would increase tension between nations include:
- Kills - Sinks - Border Disputes - Embargos.
This would give the nation afflicted a progress bar toward setting a nation as the enemy and the option to declare war. To ensure this doesn't lead to peaceful nations, I would also include a timer... if a peaceful nation does not declare war on the aggressor despite having maximum points, after 2 weeks the aggressor would be able to lay siege.
This makes Naval combat more important, it also makes trade and economy integrated.
**Economic system**
- Elements that print money should be removed to curb inflation/ whether that be removing gold integration or certain farms so be it.
- Tarrifs should be added to nations, a nation could set tarrifs on other nations and make money from it to encourage or discourage trading.
- Nation tax should be able to vary between town and between people of a certain wealth amount.
- There should be the use of Sea lanes, a lane in the sea that speeds up Cargoships by 2x on the basis no war ships are in the region. (would encourage trade and movecraft).
**Movecraft**
- Acceleration should be added to smaller ships.
- Instead of adding battleships, make Dreadnoughts 10k blocks.
- In addition and a Battlecruiser with a 140 length minimum and 8k blocks is slightly slower than cruisers as an intermediate class.
- Remove splash damage from Cannons.
- A more integrated Cannons system (as of now it feels smaller caliber guns have a huge advantage).
- Addition of Cars (50-90 blocks).
**Towny**
- Towns being assigned certain things such as ports/industry/farming/capital should have different buffs, perhaps a buff to encourage the towns setting themselves but also have a debuff making towns specialized.
For example, A Farming town may have better-growing crops but take penalties for SF farms.
